I just have to say, I think they meant that it's the definitive version because it includes a bunch of extra stuff that was DLC on the other versions. I never got the impression that they were talking about graphics, just that it is the most complete version.
I never use Home, but I might try this out to get those three unlock points.
A lot of people seem to say that MAG with Move sucks until you get used to it (which takes a few hours of playtime), then it is better than Dualshock.
I haven't tried Modern Combat yet, but I am looking forward to seeing how Move works with Killzone 3.
I don't want to play something like God of War with motion controls, but Tumble makes really good use of Move, as Dance Central seems to make really good use of Kinect.
Some people may reflexively disagree with you because you mention sales, but you're right. You vote with your dollar.
I wouldn't go so far as to call Heavy Rain "art", but many people were expecting a "video game" whereas Heavy Rain is something a little different from that.
I always compare it to this: one of my favorite movies of all time is Gandhi, but it is an incredibly dull movie, comparatively. If someone who loves action movies thought "Hey, I've heard Gandhi is a good movie, I'll check it out.", that person would be very disappointed becau...
Buttons are better for most things, but I would love to have the option to pause things by just using a gesture. I usually watch movies in a darkened room with a remote that is not lit, so I often end up fumbling around looking for the right remote, then the right button, when I want to pause. I want to be able to pause with a gesture or voice command, then do everything else with buttons.
Edit @ below: Yeah, the PS3 Blu-ray remote also seems to shut off if left for awhile...
The funny thing is I almost wrote that as "How many times do you look down at your lap and think 'That is one sexy piece of equipment?'". Then I realized how that sounded.
It looks like they have a deal with Amazon, and the pre-order though Home is from Amazon.
On those unlock points: 3 for playing that Killzone Defender game plus 3 for pre-ordering. Is that pre-order bonus on top of the already existing Amazon pre-order bonus of 3 points (for a total of 9 possible points), or is it just that same offer (for a total of 6 points)? I have it pre-ordered through Amazon, so if it's on top of the 3 points I already get, then I might cancel that and re-pre-order through the Home offer.
It is ugly, but if it's comfortable, who cares? How often do you look down at your controller and think "Man, that is one good-looking piece of electronics."
I agree. The only complaint I have about the Dualshock (and it's a minor complaint at that) is that the "handles" are a little too short. This thing looks like it would have been more comfortable to hold. It's not often, but sometimes my hands get just a little cramped with the dualshock.
I also once read that someone who claimed to work for Sony said that people didn't know what they lost with their complaining. He claimed that the controller was re...
That's a pet peeve of mine as well. It's like when people say "nucular" instead of "nuclear".
Sony's Dr. Marks once said that they were at one point looking at a system that combined Move with a 3D camera, much as this article suggests MS does, but it was way too expensive. Imagine on top of your $150 Kinect, you have to buy another $50 (or higher) controller.
Before I had read that, I was predicting that MS would announce a partnership with Sixense to bring their controller to the 360 (check it out here: http://...
Sure, it's what he's known for, but he IS capable of other things. All i'm saying is let's not assume anything just because they hired a guy who used to work at Microsoft.
Remember the things people were saying when Peter Moore left MS and went to EA Sports? "EA is going to screw over Sony now." "Peter Moore will stay loyal to Microsoft and give them exclusives." It was all unfounded.
i looked at the Amazon listing, and it looks like the DLC that is included is three expansions that have extra missions. The stuff that's on the store is extra armor and weapons. The listing also says that it comes with a one-time code for the cerberus network to download more stuff, but i don't know what that makes available.
I'm sure they'll keep it as an option because if you try using the DS3, you'll be wanting a Navigator. I was wanting one after just a few minutes of trying Heavy Rain with holding a DualShock with one hand.
I thought it already came with all the DLC.
All Move games can use the DS3 in place of the Navigator.
There is every possibility that he was hired because he's good, not because they want him to do what he has already done. I actually heard that Microsoft actually never had him work on Kinect. People just assumed that because of his Wii head tracking stuff.
Edit: I just googled him, apparently he has a Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon. He is certainly capable of doing different things. His website describes him as being in "Human Computer Interaction Research", so...
Epic is probably happy with the relationship as it is. Just like Insomniac (they are still independent, right?) has always been happy with Sony as their publishing partner.
Money is, of course, the biggest thing in business, but sometimes preserving a relationship with your business partners is just as important. If Epic did go multi-platform with Gears, it could be like cheating on your girlfriend. Sure, you got something extra, but don't expect her to ever talk to yo...
